At Ellacombe C of E Academy, underpinned by our Trust vision rooted in John 10:10, we are driven by our own Christain Vision “Together, we take strides towards a brighter future”. This structures everything we do, with our curriculum providing our pupils with the knowledge and skills to not only succeed but flourish throughout their lives.
We have shaped our curriculum to meet the needs of our Ellacombe school community with particular attention given to:
-The needs of our children to have broad horizons (our bright future) and understand connections across their learning in school and wider experiences.
-The needs of our pupils to understand the impact that their actions have, on themselves, others, and the wider world (our footprints) so they both understand the opportunities that they have as well as the responsibility for making wise choices.
-The needs of our pupils to understand and celebrate difference and diversity in our world (to reflect the Christain belief that we are all ‘God’s children unique but equally special’).
-Enabling our pupils to feel proud of our incredible historic and distinct local area of Torbay within Devon (our footprints can take us to new places).
-The understanding that children each have their own unique journey (our footprints are shaped differently and our journeys can be different) and that we do all we can to support and nurture children as their journey through their primary years.
