Parent Teacher Friend Association (PTFA)

Welcome to our PTFA (Parent, Teacher Friend Association). The aim of the PTFA is to work with our academy to promote a sense of partnership between parents, teachers and the wider community and to provide extra resources to enhance the education of the children. Here at Ellacombe Academy we are proud to have an active Parents, Teachers, Friends Association (PTFA) which helps to enrich your child’s school experience.  Each year the PTFA work hard to raise money to subsidise academy trips for all the children. This enables more trips to go ahead and makes them more affordable for our academy community. Fundraising initiatives include regular events such as the Summer and Christmas Fayres, discos and one-off events to tie in with special celebrations. To help make the PTFA as successful as possible we are always looking for any help you can offer, whether coming to meetings to brainstorm ideas, being involved in planning an event or helping out on the day of an event.  Each half term the PTFA meet to review past events, collate parent and pupil feedback and consider how events can be improved in the future. The meeting is also an opportunity for future events to be mapped out.  Meetings last approximately one hour and are an informal get together where you can meet and get to know other parents.  Refreshments are provided and younger children are more than welcome – there is always a selection of toys available. Every single parent, carer, aunt and uncle, granny and grandad is a member of our fabulous PTFA already and you are all very welcome to come along to every event we put on and/or help out. If you have any more questions about the PTFA, would like to get involved or want to share some ideas or feedback please email Ellacombeacademyptfa@gmail.com
